Interview with the Robot

This book is buy far one of my kids favorites. It features a “girl” who’s been picked up by the authorities because they believe she’s a runaway. As the story progresses, you find out that she’s actually an AI robot that a man and his son have been building for years. The best part is the HUGE TWIST at the end of the book! Bonus: This one is included for free with the Plus Catalog subscription on Audible!

Zero G

This story was a hit with my boys. It’s about a boy named Zero whose family is being taken into deep space. They’ve all been put in sleep pods to make the 100 year journey. Unfortunately, (or fortunately?) Zero’s pod malfunctions and he’s woken only a few years after the journey begins. That’s when he finds out that the ship and all of it’s passengers are in grave danger, and it’s up to him (and a friendly computer) to save the day.

My Name is River

My name is River was one of my daughter’s all time favorite audiobooks. It’s a two part series about a little girl who finds out that her entire life has been a lie and that the people she thought loved her, had actually stolen her from her real parents. It’s obviously a little bit mature (nothing extreme), but it was done with tact and really does a great job of helping kids understand that strangers really can be dangerous.
